This spring, students from the MOPD Innocence Project Clinic at Maryland Carey Law will attend the 2026 Innocence Network Conference in Chicago for the first time. The conference brings together exonerees, litigators, forensic experts, and advocates from across the country working to correct and prevent wrongful convictions. For our inaugural cohort, this is an opportunity to learn alongside the people doing this work at the highest level, to meet those who have lived the consequences of a broken system, and to return home better equipped to fight for their clients and improve our criminal legal system.

Thanks to the overwhelming support, we have surpassed our original goal of $7,500! As we move forward, any funds in excess of the students travel costs to the 2026 conference will be used to support the work of IPC. Your continued commitment helps ensure we can respond effectively and make a meaningful impact every day.
