The James F Cawley Award for Excellence in the PA profession honors an individual who has made extraordinary contributions in advancing the PA profession, scholarship, leadership, and policy in Maryland and beyond.
The Award is presented to a graduate from a Maryland Physician Assistant Program and an active member of the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants (MdAPA) who has excelled and demonstrated outstanding contribution to the PA profession in a minimum of two of the following areas:
- Distinguished record of service, leadership, and advocacy for the PA profession.
- Research and scholarship that is distinguished, impactful and sustained over time.
- Academic eminence in PA education and policy.
- Exemplary clinical care services to community.
- Mentorship and development of future PA leaders and scholars.
This annual award will be presented during the MdAPA CME Conference - PALLA Alumni and Student Social Event.
Who Can Be Nominated?
- Current and active membership in MdAPA
- Graduate of Maryland PA Program (include any PA program that ever existed in Maryland since the inception of the PA profession)
