Since the elimination of the Center for Infant and Child Loss's (CICL) Maryland Department of Health Grant, the CICL has remained committed to working with Maryland families and communities as they learn to live with their loss. Despite setbacks in funding support from the Maryland state government and the National Institutes of Health, the CICL is undeterred.
To ensure that we are able to provide care to all families who need assistance, the CICL is proud to announce the establishment of the CICL Friends & Family Funded Endowment (CICL FFFE). Our short-term goal is to raise $500,000 to keep the center running. Our long-term goal is to raise $1 million to create an endowment that will generate an annual revenue stream for CICL. The annual revenue stream from the newly established endowment, combined with CICL's current fundraisers, will empower CICL to continue to serve the many families across the state of Maryland experiencing the sudden and unexpected death of their infant/child.
A note from A. LaToya Bates, MSSA, LCSW-C, Director, Center for Infant and Child Loss
